Booking

Like our clients we too know our mobile classrooms offer excellent value for money and are competitively priced. Our prices and rates will be confirmed at the point of booking, allowing you to budget effectively. Our simple rate structure is shown on an easy-to-follow rate card available on request. There are two parts to our pricing - a mobile classroom day rate and a moving charge. Any other charges are clearly highlighted at time of booking.

We’ve made the process of everything from pricing to booking and deployment as simple as possible. Here are some commonly asked questions:

1. How do I calculate the total booking cost?
2. What’s best for me… PC Coach or PC Pod?
3. How far in advance should I book?
4. How do I book?
5. What’s the best place for the mobile classroom?
6. What about insurance?
7. What systems can I run onboard?
8. What do I get onboard and how do I use everything?
9. What if things go wrong?

1) How do I calculate the total booking cost?

Mobile classroom rate - Choose the vehicle best matching your requirements and establish the daily rate based on the duration of your booking.

Moving charge – flat rate delivery pick-up for any mainland UK location. For booking a PC Coach for one week, on one site, there would be two moving charges: one for delivery,
one for pick-up. This covers costs associated with moving the vehicle (e.g. diesel, our driver, travel expenses). Occasionally, the driver may require accommodation – we would then ask you in advance for a small contribution.

Additional costs
Generator – we usually find that we can plug into mains power. If not, the PC Coach is fitted with an onboard generator (there’s a small additional daily charge). Internet – there’s many options for on-board internet access. If we can connect to your network, there’s no additional cost. For using our 3G or satellite system there’s an additional daily charge.

Long term hire
We offer exceptional, flexible packages for long term leasing - at greatly reduced daily rates. Our support services vary according to your requirements. From just handing over the coach keys so you to use your own drivers to providing full logistical support (e.g. drivers, support staff). Different levels of IT support and coach maintenance provide you with many options to suit your budget. Insurance is covered by PC Coaching, but subject to our terms and conditions. The coach can be driven on an ordinary driving license.

2) What’s best for me …PC Coach or PC Pod?
The PC Coach is best when you need to move frequently between different sites. Based on a midi coach, it only requires four to five parking spaces. It’s powered by a single 13 Amp standard plug socket. For a small additional amount it can be powered using its own internal generator.

The spacious PC Pod is designed to be left on a site for a week or longer – many clients keep them in one location for three months or more. Towed onto site, just six parking spaces are required. Powered by 32 Amp supply (we work with your facilities team/electrical contractors to explain the exact requirements), it also features full Audio Visual facilities (50” plasma screen, DVD, sound system).

4) How do I book?
On deciding the PC Coach or PC Pod call us or send a completed online booking request form. We’ll get in touch to talk through any specific requirements and then send you an easy-to-follow booking confirmation (highlighting total cost, booking terms). Just sign and return to complete your booking.

5) What’s the best place for the mobile classroom?

We advise you on the best location. Before delivery, a simple site survey (based on our experience) pinpoints the relevant factors. If you need further support, we visit the site.

6) What about insurance?
Our vehicles are fully insured - including public liability insurance.

7) What systems can I run onboard?
We have run just about every type of onboard application / operating system. Our technical team will discuss your specific requirements. Our typical set-up is Windows XP.
We will then work with your technical team to add your own applications. Usually, clients will book the PC Coach or PC Pod for a day or two before the first day of training to allow them time to install and test their software.

8) What do I get onboard & how do I use everything?

Our classrooms are fully equipped with:

  1. Hi-spec networked PCs
  2. Flat-screen monitors
  3. Desking
  4. 8 or 10 fully-adjustable ergonomic seats
  5. Flip chart / whiteboard with markers and net school
  6. Ability to display the trainer’s screen on the delegates’ screens

… everything you would expect of a well-appointed IT training suite. When the classroom is delivered, we discuss with you the features and check the inventory. When you (or your trainers) are satisfied we give you with the vehicle keys – but always help is just a phone call away.

9) What if things go wrong?
When a vehicle is set-up for a project, a spare PC  is built with the same configuration as the rest of the PCs on the coach. In the event of failure it can be quickly replaced with minimum disruption. In the unlikely event that a problem cannot be promptly sorted, our trainers or a member of our operations team will be onsite as soon as practicable. As PC Coaching has over 25 mobile units covering the UK, we have personnel operating out of most regional centres. On-site support can be quickly organised. We carry a comprehensive inventory of major item spares (e.g. uninterrupted power supplies, switches and servers) ensuring rapid replacement (we’re not reliant on third party suppliers).

Our services really are easy-to-use. If you need to know anything else, our team is on hand to help. For our Service Overview and full details on our mobile learning rooms please contact us.
